Four journalists, including Dahal and Khadka, receive Youth Journalism Award
The government honours journalists for their contributions to youth development, entrepreneurship, and marginalised voices.

Kantipur journalists Prakriti Dahal and Gaganshila Khadka are among the four recipients of this year’s Youth Journalism Award presented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
At a ceremony held on Friday, Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary handed over the ‘Youth Journalism Award 2081 BS’.
Dahal works with Nari, a monthly magazine under Kantipur Publications, while Khadka reports for Kantipur Daily.
Mamata Thapa of Annapurna Post and Sushil Darnal of the National News Agency were also honoured with the award.
Each recipient was awarded Rs50,000.
The ministry evaluated candidates based on their journalism contributions in areas such as highlighting youth development opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship and employment, prioritising marginalised youth, sustained engagement in youth journalism, and reporting from remote or underdeveloped regions.
The awardees were selected by a committee led by Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary Hari Prasad Lamsal.
