Veteran artist Laxmi Shrestha, famed for her role as Apsara Aama in the popular comedy series ‘Meri Bassai’, passed away on Friday night at her home after a prolonged battle with illness.
Shrestha had been suffering from breast cancer and related health complications.
A figure loved by fans, she rose to fame as the wife of Khadka Ji (played by Sitaram Kattel) in ‘Meri Bassai’. Her wide-ranging career included television serials such as ‘Jire Khursani’, ‘Kanchi’, ‘Ulto Sulto’, and the film ‘Lakka Jawaan’, directed by Shivahari Poudel.
