The donation, part of the first KSRelief programme in Nepal, aims to support orphanages, religious groups, and educational institutions.
Post Report
Saudi Arabia has donated 25 tonnes of premium dates to Nepal as part of a humanitarian aid initiative led by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief). The distribution was inaugurated on Monday at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kupondole by the Saudi Ambassador to Nepal, Saad Nasser Abuhaimed.
This marks the first KSRelief programme in Nepal and symbolises a growing humanitarian partnership between the two nations.
The consignment was received by Chhabilal Poudel, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to officials, the dates will be distributed to orphanages, Muslim organisations, universities, and other institutions, benefitting a range of communities across the country.
Ambassador Abuhaimed expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their continued commitment to international humanitarian assistance.
The initiative also underscores the strong ties between Nepal and Saudi Arabia, reinforced by Saudi Arabia’s status as a major destination for Nepali migrant workers. The economic and cultural bonds between the two nations continue to deepen through such gestures of solidarity and cooperation.
KSRelief is a charity King Salman bin Abdulaziz founded in 2015 to help those in need worldwide.
