House to hold 18-hour deliberation on appropriation bill priorities
Discussion on principles and priorities (excluding tax proposals) for fiscal year 2025-26 begins.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday began discussions on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for fiscal year 2025-26, excluding tax proposals. The deliberations will last for approximately 18 hours over four days.
The decision was made during the Business Advisory Committee meeting, chaired by Speaker Devraj Ghimire. According to the schedule, the discussion will continue for four hours today, five hours on Wednesday, four hours on Thursday, and five hours on Friday.
Time has been allocated to political parties as follows: Nepali Congress and CPN-UML five hours each, CPN (Maoist Centre) two hours, Rastriya Swatantra Party 82 minutes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 50 minutes, CPN (Unified Socialist) 40 minutes, Janata Samajbadi Party 28 minutes, Janamat Party 24 minutes, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party 16 minutes each. Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, Aam Janata Party, and independent lawmakers have been given five minutes each.
