Prime Minister Oli pays tribute to Kamal Koirala
Esteemed author, former ambassador Koirala passed away on Sunday evening at KMC Hospital, Sinamangal.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli paid his tribute to the late Kamal Koirala, a renowned author and former ambassador, at the central office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) at Aloknagar, Kathmandu, on Monday.
Oli, who visited the office to offer his respect, also inspected the damage caused by pro-monarchy protesters who had vandalised the office buildings and set fire to it on Friday.
Koirala’s body was kept at the Unified Socialist Party office in Aloknagar, Kathmandu, for mourners to pay their respects.
Alongside CPN-UML chair Oli, a group of political figures, including Unified Socialist chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal, leaders of other political parties, and prominent civil society figures, paid tribute to the late diplomat.
Koirala was an esteemed author, columnist, former Member of Parliament, and ambassador. His contributions to Nepal’s diplomatic and political landscape have been widely acknowledged. His funeral will be held today at Pashupatinath Aryaghat.
The 87-year-old Koirala passed away on Sunday evening while undergoing treatment at the KMC Hospital in Sinamangal. He had been admitted to the hospital following a fall at his home.
Koirala’s legacy as a writer, diplomat, and political figure is remembered fondly by his colleagues and the wider public.
