Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police Janak Bhattarai has been promoted to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG). The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday approved Bhattarai’s promotion.
Bhattarai, who currently serves as the chief of the Karnali Province Police Office, was recommended for promotion to AIG by the promotion recommendation committee on February 23.
His tenure as AIG will end on March 18. Bhattarai’s promotion follows the resignation of AIG Rabindra KC on February 9. Both KC and Bhattarai are batchmates of Inspector General Basanta Kunwar.
