Six young individuals working in various fields were honoured with the ‘Youth Sustainability Promotion Award-2081’ on Thursday in Pokhara.
The award was presented to youths who have made significant contributions in their respective fields during the 10th Nepal Youth Convention, organised by the Nepal Youth Network for Sustainable Development.
The recipients of the award were mountaineer Purnima Shrestha, foreign affairs journalist Jagdishorr Panday, youth expert Jagdish Air, inclusive education specialist Deepak Basyal, investigative journalist Suman Dhungana, and social entrepreneur Devi Devkota.
The awards were presented by the Minister for Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives of Gandaki Province, Padma GC Shrestha; Vice-Chairman of the Gandaki Province Policy and Planning Commission, Krishna Chandra Devkota; Chairman of the Nepal Youth Network for Sustainable Development, Saurabh Khanal; and the organisation’s founding chairman and coordinator of the award selection committee, Amrit Devkota.
