Court extends Lamichhane’s custody by five days

The Kaski District Court has granted police permission to keep Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane in custody for five more days to continue investigations into charges of cooperative fraud, organised crime, and money laundering.
The decision was made on Thursday by Judge Chandrakanta Paudel’s bench, which also extended the remand for former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, Leela Pachhai, Ram Bahadur Khanal, and Krishna Bahadur Gurung, who are facing similar charges, according to court information officer Suraj Adhikari.
Lamichhane has already been questioned in Pokhara, Rupandehi, Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Parsa as part of the ongoing investigation. The RSP chair, who was arrested from the party headquarters in Kathmandu on October 18, is currently held at the District Police Office in Kaski.
