Suresh Adhikari, secretary of the House of Representatives, resigned from his position, with effect from Monday.
Adhikari, who assumed office in July after retiring as Secretary of the Ministry of Education, cited health issues as the reason for his decision.
“I faced health problems, so I decided to resign,” Adhikari said.
He submitted his resignation to President Ramchandra Paudel on Sunday.
On July 2, President Paudel appointed Adhikari as the secretary of the lower house on the recommendation of Speaker Devraj Ghimire. The position was vacant after Padma Prasad Pandey, then secretary, was appointed general secretary of the Federal Parliament on February 6.
