The Dashrathchand Highway, which connects Darchula and Baitadi, reopened on Monday morning after a 14-hour closure caused by a landslide.
The road was blocked on Sunday evening in ward 4 of Patan Municipality, Baitadi, when debris fell during road widening works.
According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, vehicles have resumed their journeys following the highway’s reopening at 10am. Engineer Liladhar Bhatt from the Road Division Office, Patan, said three excavators were deployed from 5am to clear the debris.
Short and long-distance vehicles from both districts are now operating as usual.
