Controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai was arrested at his home in Thimi, Bhaktapur, on Sunday afternoon.
According to Nabindra Aryal, head of the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, Prasai was taken into custody by a team deployed from the bureau.
Aryal confirmed that a woman had filed a case against Prasai, accusing him of committing cybercrime.
"Prasai is currently in the custody of Nepal Police, and we are investigating the allegations against him," he said.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant against Prasai, along with Jeevan Pandey and Prakash Chandra Dahal, for allegedly violating the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008.
