Rural municipality vice chair killed in road accident

Chandra Singh Karki, the vice chair of Sarkegad Rural Municipality in Humla, died in a road accident on Monday while en route to Nepalgunj from Surkhet.
According to the District Police Office, Surkhet, the vehicle was involved in an accident in ward 5 of Bheri Ganga Municipality.
Karki was immediately rushed to Nepalgunj Medical College for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries around 2am on Tuesday, police said.
Karki was elected as the vice chair of the rural municipality from the CPN (Maoist Centre) in the 2022 local elections.
