Construction of Nepal art village begins at Chhampi

Construction of a Nepal art village with a gigantic sculpture in the shape of Bhairav Mask has begun at Chhampi, Godavari of Lalitpur district.
According to Rupak Man Maharjan, founder member and spokesperson of the project, the mask will be constructed using Panchdhatu (sacred five metals), will be 72 feet high, 58 feet wide and will weigh 65 tons.
The structure will be framed and assembled in a five-storey building. The front of the building will have a Bhairav mask, and the building will be decorated with the establishment of an art museum inside the building, according to the project.
The project believes the structure will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records once completed.
In the first phase of the project, which will cover a total area of 121,078.41 square metres, Bhairav’s Mask and other heritage areas will be constructed on 26,454.11 square metres of land, and Kalagram on 94,624.30 square metres of land.
It is said that one can observe the Kathmandu Valley and the picturesque Himalayas from the structure.
According to Maharjan, the project aims to develop and promote it as an art city.
