Monsoon-induced disasters take lives of 133 people

At least 133 people lost their lives, and over 4,000 families have been displaced by monsoon-induced disasters across the country in the past 43 days.
According to Deputy Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for Nepal Police, the death toll from the disasters stands at 38 in Gandaki Province, 27 in Bagmati, 23 in Lumbini, 22 in Koshi, 10 in Sudurpaschim, seven in Karnali and six in Madhesh.
Likewise, 145 people were injured across the country, including 34 each in Koshi and Karnali provinces, 29 in Gandaki, 16 in Bagmati, 14 in Sudurpaschim, nine each in Lumbini and Madhesh provinces.
Seven people, excluding those in the Simaltal incident, are missing. Police said search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the missing individuals.
A total of 4,018 households were displaced.
