The Nepali Congress on Sunday finalised the names of the ministers who will be inducted into the Madhesh provincial government.
Congress provincial lawmaker Sanjay Mahato said the party has selected Janardan Singh Chhetri from Parsa, Sunil Yadav from Rautahat, Kaushal Raya from Dhanusha, and Shesh Narayan Yadav from Dhanusha as the new ministers.
Congress MP Shesh Narayan said it was agreed that the Congress will be allocated the Ministry of Economic Affairs; Ministry of Energy, Irrigation, and Drinking Water; Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism and Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives.
Although the Congress has finalised the names for four ministries, the Janamat Party said that only three portfolios can be allocated to the party.
Chief Minister Satish Singh intends to retain the Ministry of Economic Affairs after allocating four ministries to UML, which has 25 MPs, and three ministries to Congress, which holds 22 seats in the provincial assembly.
Chief Minister Singh of the Janamat Party sacked the six ministers from four parties on Saturday.
Singh sacked ministers from the Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Sanghiya Samajbadi Party. During the floor test on Saturday, Chief Minister Singh secured the majority with support from the CPN-UML, Nepali Congress and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
