The Parliamentary Hearing Committee on Tuesday endorsed Toyam Raya to the post of Auditor General.

Raya was unanimously approved for the position, said committee chair Pashupati Shumsher Rana.

Raya expressed his commitment to carry out activities to reduce arrears while presenting a 15-page action plan before the House panel.

Now, President Ramchandra Paudel will appoint Raya to the position.

A meeting of the Constitutional Council held on March 31 had recommended Raya for the position.
