Mahesh Bartaula has been nominated chief whip and Sunita Baral whip of the CPN-UML.

UML chair and parliamentary party leader KP Oli assigned them the responsibility on Tuesday. Bartaula was the whip of the party earlier.

The position of the chief whip became vacant after Padam Giri was inducted into the newly constituted Council of Ministers on Monday.

Lawmakers Bartaula and Baral both started their political journey as student leaders.
