President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday appointed former Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal and Sanil Nepal as ambassadors to two nations.
According to Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, spokesperson of the Office of the President, Paudyal has been appointed as the country’s envoy to Canada.
Likewise, Nepal will assume office as the ambassador to Portugal as per the Parliamentary Hearing Committee’s November 9 decision.
The committee had, on November 27, unanimously endorsed Paudyal as the envoy to the North American country. He will also work as the non-residential Nepali ambassador to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Haiti and as the permanent representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
