The CPN (Maoist Centre) on Sunday finalised its candidates for the National Assembly elections slated for January 25.
A meeting of the party’s office-bearers picked Champa Devi Karki for Koshi Province, Shree Krishna Prasad Adhikari for Bagmati, Manrupa Sharma Subedi for Gandaki, Jhakku Prasad Subedi for Lumbini, Bishnu BK for Karnali and Renu Chand for Sudurpashim.
As per the power-sharing deal in the ruling coalition, the party has got six seats out of 19 positions for which the elections are being held.
The term of 20 lawmakers in the 59-strong upper house expires on March 3. While 19 seats will be filled through elections, one member will be nominated by the President at the Cabinet’s recommendation.
