Rural municipality starts girl child insurance program
The rural municipality will deposit Rs20,000 for each girl, and the parents have the option to increase the amount voluntarily.

Rohini Rural Municipality of the district has started a girl child insurance programme under the Girl Child Protection Campaign to help newborn girls grow in a safe environment.
According to Shri Prasad Gautam, chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, this programme has been put forward after an agreement with an insurance company on Monday.
The main objectives include curbing child marriage, ensuring promp registrations of births and marriages, helping girls in pursuing higher education, reducing feticides, and eliminating the discrimination between sons and daughters.
The rural municipality will deposit Rs20,000 for each girl, and the parents have the option to increase the amount voluntarily. The accumulated fund will be available to the girl upon reaching adulthood, said Gautam.
