Four dead, five injured in Doti jeep crash

The jeep heading to Bajura from Dhangadhi fell some 50 metres down the road causing casualties, police said.

A jeep heading to Bajura from Dhangadhi met with an accident in Doti in the wee hours of Sunday, killing four people on the spot and injuring five others.

According to Sudurpaschim Province Office, Dhangadhi, the deceased are a 22-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman, a six-year-old boy and an eight-month-old girl from Himali Rural Municipality-5 of Bajura.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Dipayal-based Shaileswari Hospital, police said.

Police have detained the driver, Mahesh Budha of Gaumul Rural Municipality-4 of Bajura, following the accident.

According to police, the jeep fell some 50 metres down the road at Anyul in Shikhar Municipality of Doti causing the casualties.
