A Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Force died of a heart attack on Saturday morning.
SP Suman Thapaliya, 43, who was deployed at 13 number battalion, had complained of chest discomfort at around 10am immediately after returning to his office from cycling.
Thapaliya was rushed to the Birgunj-based Nepal Mediciti Vayodha Hospital after he collapsed. Doctors pronounced him dead after treatment for an hour. One of his fellow officers said doctors informed them that Thapaliya had a heart attack.
A local of Nuwakot, Thapaliya had joined the Armed Police Force as an inspector.
