Upendra Yadav takes oath of office and secrecy

Newly-elected lower house member Upendra Yadav has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Yadav was sworn in by House Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire at the Federal Parliament Office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
The Janata Samajbadi Party chairman was elected to the lower house from Bara-2 in the recent by-polls after defeating his closest competitor Shiva Chandra Kushwaha of the Janamat Party by a margin of 5,081 votes.
Yadav garnered 28,415 votes while Kushwaha received 23,334 votes.
The Bara-2 seat had been vacant after Ramsahaya Prasad had been elected the Vice-President.
Yadav was defeated by Janamat Party chair CK Raut in the elections held in November last year from Saptari-2 by a huge margin.
Rastriya Swatantra Party chair Rabi Lamichhane and party leader Swarnim Wagle were also sworn in by the Speaker on April 28. Yadav could not be administered the oath as he was not in the Capital.
