President Paudel wants to bear his treatment cost: Secretariat
The President underwent treatment at a hospital in New Delhi, India for 11 days.Post Report
President Ramchandra Paudel has expressed his desire to cover medical expenses incurred during his treatment in India, his secretariat said on Tuesday.
Khila Karki, press coordinator to President Paudel, in a statement, said the President wants to cover his medical bills himself.
The President was criticised for undergoing treatment in India for a ‘minor’ ailment ‘that could be cured in Nepal.’
Paudel returned home on Sunday night after completing his treatment at a hospital in New Delhi, India. He stayed in the Indian capital city for 11 days for treatment.
After being discharged from the hospital, the President arrived home on a regular flight of Nepal Airlines
Paudel received treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi for a chest-related ailment.
Doctors attending to the President in Delhi allowed him to leave the hospital as his health condition improved significantly.
The President was airlifted to India on a chartered flight of Shree Airlines along with a medical team on April 19. Paudel was admitted to TU Teaching Hospital a day before flying to India after he complained of shortness of breath.
