The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has formed a task force to study vehicle pollution, safety and road accident reduction.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha formed the seven-member task force led by former secretary Sharad Chandra Poudel on Wednesday.
The members of the task force are former Additional Inspector General of Police Bigyan Raj Sharma, lecturer at Pulchowk Engineering College Padma Bahadur Shahi, transport export Madhu Sudan Acharya and engineer Bijaya Gautam.
The chairman or representative of the Federation of Nepali National Transport Entrepreneurs will be a member of the committee, while the director general of the Department of Transport Management has been named member-secretary.
The task force has been assigned to submit a report suggesting the government on the issues of vehicle pollution, safety and reducing accidents.
