PM Deuba, top leaders cast votes
Voters have tuned out enthusiastically at polling stations to exercise their franchise to elect 275-member parliament and 550 members of provincial assemblies.Post Report
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, cabinet minister and top leaders of different political parties cast their votes in the House of Representatives and provincial assembly polls on Sunday.
Deuba, who is also Nepali Congress president, voted at a polling station at Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality-1 of his home district, Dadeldhura.
Talking briefly to the media after the voting, Deuba said the that beauty of democracy is that everyone should exercise their right to vote.
Likewise, Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal voted from Chitwan district.
Dahal voted from a polling booth at Nepal Police School Shantipur located in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-14 at 7:15am.
Talking in brief to media persons, he claimed that the alliance will win the elections. After casting his vote, Dahal left for Gorkha where he is contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Similarly, Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has voted from Rajtirtha polling booth located in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-2.
A leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Bhusal is a candidate for Lalitpur-3 representing the Left-Democratic Alliance.
Likewise, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina cast his vote from Pashupati Secondary School 'A' polling booth located at Ramja in Ward No. 7 of Modi Rural Municipality.
Speaking to media after the vote, he urged all the voters to exercise their right to vote with confidence in the election being held to elect new people's representatives.
In Sindhupalchok, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota cast his vote from Setidevi Panchakanya Secondary School polling booth in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality.
According to his press expert Sridhar Neupane, Speaker Sapkota reached Sindhupalchok on Saturday for the voting.
Similarly, Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Paudel has voted from Satyavati Secondary School polling station located in Byas Municipality-2.
Leader Paudel is a candidate for the House of Representatives from Tanahun constituency No. 1.
Likewise, Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has voted from Ramjanaki Kanya Basic School polling station in Rautahat.
Nepal is a candidate for a member of the House of Representatives from Rautahat-1. He voted from the Polling Station located in Gaur Municipality.
