A total of 299 books were submitted for Madan Puraskar 2078, according to the Madan Puraskar Guthi.

Madan Puraskar Guthi has announced the list of eight books shortlisted for Madan Puraskar 2078.
Out of 299 books submitted for the award, eight were selected by a committee formed to review the submissions. Although a maximum of 10 books are shortlisted, the recommendation committee recommended only eight for the award this year.
The shortlisted books for the award are— Agni by Dr Navraj Lamsal, Grishma Ko Neelo Batash by Dr Damodar Pudasaini ‘Kishor’; Mahabhara by Basanta Basnet, Yaadko Sanduk by Deepa Mewahang Rai, Lichchavi Lipi by Dr Nayanath Paudel, Byutpattimulak Sanskrit-Nepali Sabdakosh by Prof Neelmani Dhungana, Sati by Sujith Mainali and Hiti Pranali by Padmasundar Joshi.
Madan Puraskar is given to the best book published in the Nepal language in a given year and was established in 1955, according to Madan Puraskar Guthi.
