The seventh edition of the Kantipur-HISSAN Edu fair drew to a close on Monday. The four-day fair, organised jointly by Kantipur Publications and Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal, had started at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu on Friday.
On Monday, the fair drew an estimated 75,000 visitors, according to the organisers. The highlight of the fourth day of the event was a function organised to celebrate its success. The function saw representatives from all 74 colleges featured at the fair and students who danced exultantly at the closing party.
“All the students and parents who visited the fair benefited from it,” Yadav Bhattarai, programme head of Everest College, said. “The fair was a great opportunity for both students and parents to gain knowledge about dozens of renowned colleges in one venue.”
Themed ‘Excellent Education in Nepal,’ the fair sought to establish that one doesn’t necessarily have to travel abroad for quality education, organisers said.
The fair, which targeted students seeking to pursue high-secondary and undergraduate studies in Nepal, saw over 200,000 participants, according to organisers.
The fair had last taken place in 2019 before its two subsequent iterations were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
