College lecturer arrested on charges of sexual harassment of student on social media

Police have arrested a lecturer at Ratna Rajya Campus in Kathmandu on charges of misbehaving with a female student through social media.
Lecturer of anthropology Bishnu Prasad Acharya was arrested on Monday for sexual harassment of a student after she complained about the misbehaviour and the District Administration Office, Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant.
“We arrested the lecturer after receiving orders from the District Administration Office Kathmandu,” said DSP Pramesh Bista, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range Teku. “Investigation is going on.”
According to sources, Acharya was arrested Monday evening after the victim complained of sexual harassment through social media to the police.
“We issued an arrest warrant to the police on Sunday allowing them to arrest Acharya,” said Gokarna Khanal, an official at the Kathmandu District Administration Office.
