All eight passengers from Nawalparasi on Air Arabia flight from Sharjah traced
The local authorities had been able to trace only one among the eight. But on Sunday, the respective local units traced the remaining seven.Narayan Sharma
The local administration in Nawalparasi informed that all eight individuals who had flown in to Tribhuwan International Airport on the same flight as the 32-year-old man who had tested positive for Covid-19 have come in contact with government authorities. They all are either in self-isolation or quarantine facilities, according to the local administration.
On Saturday, the local authorities had been able to trace only one among the eight. But on Sunday, acting on the request of the local administration, the respective local units traced the remaining seven and informed the concerned authorities. Five of the eight are from Nawalparasi (East) while three are from Nawalparasi (West).
According to Ananda Bhusal, the information officer of the district administration office, six of them have been kept in quarantine facilities near their residences, one is in self-quarantine while the other is in Chitwan. “He is observing the 13-day death ritual of his father so we couldn’t take him to the quarantine facility. The eighth individual was found at his in-law’s in Bharatpur, Chitwan. We have instructed him to stay go to a quarantine facility in Bharatpur immediately,” Bhusal added.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had instructed the local administration to trace the passengers the Ministry of Health and Population had confirmed the fourth positive case on Covid-19 on Wednesday.
All of them were returning from Dubai on Air Arabia’s flight with call sign number G 9537 on March 19.
According to the district administration office, as many as 411 people who have returned to their homes in Nawalparasi (East) from India and other countries in the past two weeks. The respective local bodies have kept them all in self-quarantine or quarantine facilities.
