Zurich International asks for extension following court order to stop felling trees at Nijgadh
Following the Supreme Court’s orders to halt the felling of trees at the proposed site of the Nijgadh International Airport, Zurich Airport International AG, which was asked to submit a business proposal for the development of the airport by March 1, has officially requested an extension.
Zurich had been selected as the concessionaire to develop the troubled $3.45 billion Nijgadh International Airport, billed to be the largest airport in terms of area in South Asia upon completion, after the Swiss company outbid competitors, including the GMR Group, an Indian infrastructure giant.
Will the subject of history soon be history?
Ram Prasad Aryal was always interested in history. Growing up in Gorkha, he read a lot about Prithvi Narayan Shah and how he had unified Nepal. He also read plenty about the French revolution and the First World War—history intrigued him. That was why after completing his high-school education in Gorkha, Aryal decided to move to Kathmandu to pursue the subject at Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of History.
Foreign nonprofits offer help to combat potential health crisis in event of Covid-19 outbreak
The International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) have offered help to the government in three areas to combat potential health crises in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
So far, the country has only a single confirmed case of coronavirus. The government has been screening every passenger entering the country from Tribhuvan International Airport and suspended visa on arrival for nationals from China, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iran.

According to different supermarkets and pharmacies, their hand sanitiser stocks are depleting rapidly, and they have had to resort to rationing. Demand for hand sanitisers increased sharply in recent weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak that looks like becoming a global pandemic.
