RAJBIRAJ: A national gathering of the Tharu community in Saptari district has announced a protest programme, demanding unconditional release of Resham Lal Chaudhary and 10 others who were convicted in the Tikapur incident. Organising a press meet in Rajbiraj on Friday, the community made public its plans for the protest programme and formed a national struggle committee under the leadership of Raj Tharu. The community also demanded that the government make public the report submitted by a commission led by former justice Girishchandra Lal, and provide compensation to the victims of Tharuhat protest.
