Half of the CC cameras installed in the roads of Birgunj Metropolis have been out of operation for a long time.
According to the District Police Office, out of 79 CC cameras in the metropolis, only 34 are working. Seven years ago, the metropolis had installed CC cameras in various parts Birgunj metropolis to maintain law and order.
According to Safer Birgunj, a local organisation, four lawmakers including Chief Minister Lal Bahadur Raut are going to allocate Rs 500,000 each from their fund to reinstall CCTV cameras in Birgunj. Manoj Das of Safer Birgunj said that they are going to install CC cameras from Ghantaghar to Gandak area. (PR)
