Science exam scheduled on Thursday under the ongoing Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has been cancelled in all eight districts of Province 2 after a question paper leak.
The paper started circulating on social media sites well before the exam started at 8am. The District Examination Coordination Committee in Saptari held a meeting immediately after the leak and recommended the National Examination Board and Office of Controller of Examination cancel Thursday’s science exam.
Talking to the Post over the phone, Examination Controller Bishnu Prasad Adhikari confirmed that SEE science test scheduled on Thursday was cancelled in Province 2 following the incident. The exam will now take place on April 5.
A total of 70,568 students are taking SEE at 262 exam centres in Province 2.
Chief District Officer of Saptari Surendra Paudel said that they have opened an investigation into the leak. He, however, claimed that the papers did not leak from Saptari. “We checked all the packets containing copies of question papers. All of them were found intact. The crime must have taken place somewhere else,” said Paudel.
