A person died after being shot at during a robbery at Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-3 in Bardiya district on Monday.

According to Nepal Police website, Mohan Khatik, 35, of Gobariyapur in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-3 was shot by unknown assailants during a robbery while he was asleep. The robbers also made away with Rs 50, 000 from the victim’s house.

Khatik, who sustained serious bullet injuries following the incident, died while undergoing medical treatment at a Nursig Home in Nepalgunj.

Police are searching for the absconding assailants and investigation into the incident is underway.
