A man died after being hit by a bus near Tinkune in Dharan-8, Sunsari on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Pratap Chaudhary, 18, of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-6.

Police said that the bus hit Chaudhary while he was heading towards Bishokarma Mandir at Dharan-8 to offer puja on his new scooter.

Critically injured in the incident, Chaudhary breathed his last during the course of treatment, the District Traffic Police Office said.

Police said that they have impounded the bus and arrested its driver Khagendra Darji, 35, of Itahari-7 for investigation.
