Properties worth Rs 250,000 were destroyed when fire gutted a house at East Rukum at 11.30 pm on Friday. Cash Rs 55 thousand, food grains, utensils and clothes in the thatched-roofed house of Gyanu Budha were destroyed by fire at local Rumalbara.
The fire broke out while frying meat at the house. Thirty six-year-old Motikala Budha, Gyanu’s wife, sustained burn injuries to her hands, legs and back in the incident. She has been taken to Nepalgunj for medical treatment from the District Hospital, Salle.
A buffalo and a goat were also injured in the incident. The fire at the house was brought under control by police and locals at 2 am. RSS
