Inebriated man rapes 70-year-old woman in Saptari

According to the District Police Office, a 14-year-old girl of Dakneshwori Municipality-1 was raped by her cousin when she was alone in her house. The girl’s mother said the culprit was zipping his pant when she got home.
“My daughter was crying at the time when he fled the scene,” said victim’s mother. DSP Bhabesh Rimal said the girl has been taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for a medical test on Wednesday. The perpetrator is at large, said DSP Rimal.
In a separate incident, a 70-year-old woman was raped at Musaharniya in Khadga Municipality-8 on Tuesday night. Police said a 40-year-old man raped her at 9:30pm while she was alone at her house as all her family members were out to observe the Jitiya festival. “The man was drunk when he raped me,” the woman told police. Police said they are searching for the two absconding men.
Dhanusha reports 10 rape incidents in last two months
DHANUSHA: Police said 10 rape incidents were reported in Dhanusha district within the last two months. DSP Dipendra Bahadur Shahi said eight suspects were arrested whereas three are still at large. Most of the rape victims are minors, said DSP Shahi. Meanwhile, women right activists have been demanding to ban liquor sales in Janakpur citing that alcohol consumption has increased rape incidents.
