Another massive landslide strike on a settlement has displaced 135 families from a Kundi area in Budiganga Municipality-1, in Bajura District.
Last week, a woman from the same settlement had died when a landslide at the site buried part of her home.
Premraj Jaishi, ward secretary of Budiganga-1, said the latest landslide has swept away four homes.
“The families displaced by the landslide have been taking shelter at Aatibazaar area,” he said.
Children and women are facing difficulties as they have no roofs above their heads. There is a shortage of drinking water in the area as the landslide has buried local water source.
Mayor Dipak Bikram Shah said, “The municpal office is co-ordinating with various agencies to distribute relief and compensation to the families displaced by the landslide.”
The Chief District Officer Chetraj Baral has pledged to send relief materials to the affected areas as soon as possible.
