Dr KC had been receiving treatment at TUTH for the past 13 days after ending his hunger strike following a nine-point agreement with the government on July 26. He was treated at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for six days as his health condition had deteriorated badly.
At a press conference organised at Maharajgunj-based TUTH following his discharge from the hospital, the somber looking orthopedic surgeon urged the government to implement the agreements signed with him. He also warned of resorting to another hunger strike if the agreements were not implemented.
“I couldn’t check the patients for long because of the prolonged hunger strike. I don’t know if I have to stage the 16th hunger strike,” said Dr KC, choking up with emotions. Then the mood turned somber at the press conference.
Dr KC had started his 15th hunger strike at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla on June 30.
