Opposition Nepali Congress lawmakers on Sunday registered a motion of public importance, demanding action against medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai for his defamatory remarks against Nepali female students pursuing medical education in neighbouring Bangladesh.
The NC lawmakers registered the proposal at the Parliament Secretariat on Sunday, demanding discussions on the issue and immediate legal action against the owner of the Jhapa-based B&C Medical College.
NC lawmaker Dila Sangraula registered the motion which was seconded by fellow parliamentarians Laxmi Pariyar and Pramila Rai.
They also claimed Prasai’s remarks against Nepali female MBBS students in Bangladesh had violated the laws and constitution. (PR)
