An elderly couple has been injured after their son-in-law attacked them with an iron road at Rangbhang in Biruwa Rural Municipality-3 on Saturday.
According to the police, Khum Bahadur Thapa, son-in-law of Mohan Singh Thapa, 78 and Chitra Kumari Thapa, 69, attacked the latter with an iron rod and caused injuries to the head and various parts of the body.
DSP Prakash Bista informed that Khum Bahadur, who is said to be mentally disabled, has been handed in the custody of his brother Jiwan Thapa on the condition that the former be present when summoned.
Meanwhile, the injured Thapa couple has been sent to Pokhara-based Gandaki Hospital for further medical treatment in view of the seriousness of their injuries.
