Nepal Students Union (NSU), the student wing of main opposition Nepal Congress (NC), organised a protest rally against the price hike of petroleum products on Friday.
The rally that started from Bhrikutimandap passed through Putalisadak, Bagbazaar and turned into a corner assembly at Ratna Park.
The Nepal Oil Corporation on May 16 had jacked up the price on petroleum products.
This is the eighth time that the corporation has revised the fuel prices this year.
The state-owned utility had increased Rs 2 per litre in petrol, diesel and kerosene.
According to the new revised rate, people have to pay Rs 110 to get a litre of petrol and diesel and Rs 92 to get a litre of kerosene.
