Kathmandu
Around 30 people have been arrested for chanting slogans against visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from various parts of Kathmandu on Friday.
According to SSP Purna Chandra Joshi of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, they were arrested from Sinmangal, Tinkune, New Baneshwor and Gaushala.
Indian PM Modi, who had earned accolades during his first visit to Kathmandu in 2014, received a rather muted response from the Nepali public this time.
The 2015 border blockade enforced by the Modi government, causing shortage of fuel and daily essentials in Nepal, continue to remain a sore point for many Nepalis.
PM Modi arrived in Nepal on a two-day state visit on Friday.
