A police team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested murder convict mayor of Katariya Municipality Siya Ram Kuswaha from Kathmandu on Thursday.
The mayor was arrested from Anamnagar in the Capital following the order issued by Birgunj-based Janakpur High Court on Tuesday. The court had directed the District Police Office, Gaur, to arrest Kushwaha on the charge of murder of Hindu Yuva Sangh, Parsa Founder Chairman Kashi Nath Tiwari.
A temporary joint bench of Janakpur High Court comprising of judges Narayan Prasad Shrestha and Lekhnath Ghimire on March 12 had sentenced Kushwaha to 20-year in prison after pronouncing him guilty in the murder of Tiwari.
