A rare Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead in Ratnanagar-based Panchakanya Community Forest in Chitwan on Thursday.
The male tiger was found dead on the northern part of the community forest, 100 metres away from the dumping site of Rantanagar Municipality, Chitwan District Forest Officer Kedarnath Paudel said. This is the third death of a tiger in March and April.
Saying the tiger’s body has multiple injuries, he suspected the big cat could have died due to injuries it sustained in a battle with another tiger.
Earlier on Thursday, the tiger had killed and ate a wild boar.
Paudel said the tiger has been sent to the laboratory of National Trust for Nature Conservation after collecting its sample. He said the reason behind the death of rare tiger would be established only after the examination.
Two weeks ago another tiger was found dead in the same community forest.
Earlier on March 24, a tiger was found dead on the bank of Rapti River of the Chitwan National Park.
Meanwhile, seven rhinoceros were found at the same time in the Chitwan National Park.
