Acting on a tip-off that a Delhi-Kathmandu tourist bus (Na 6 Kha 6302) was smuggling goods to Kathmandu by evading customs, police intercepted the vehicle and confiscated clothes, pressure cookers and leather goods.
Police said that they have arrested bus driver Ram Bahadur Thokar and bus owner Ramesh Khadka aka Milan.
Police have been confiscating goods being smuggled to Kathmandu from India by evading customs on the regular basis for the past two weeks.
Earlier on Thursday, police had seized red sandalwood weighing 10.7 kg, 1,302 pieces of prayer beads and ready-made garments from a tourist bus.
The confiscated items were found to have been concealed in the false bottom on the hood of the bus.
