The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday arrested Nabin Kumar Shrestha, account officer at Khadbari Municipality, on charges of not depositing municipality’s revenue into the bank account and withdrawing the deposited money.

Based on the information received from CIAA Regional office, Dhankuta on March 27, Shrestha was arrested and taken in custody of CIAA for investigation, the anti-graft body said a press statement.

According to CIAA, Shrestha is suspected to have embezzled revenue worth around Rs10 million.
