Police on Tuesday arrested producer of Nepali feature film Kri, Subas Giri.
The police arrested Giri a complaint was registered accusing him of copyright infringement for using a song—Ukali ma aghi aghi…—in the feature film without the consent of its original artist.
Kathmandu Police Circle SSP Bishwa Raj Pokharel confirmed that producer Giri was arrested for investigation regarding copyright infringement of the famous song.
The reprised version of the famous song composed by veteran musician Ranjit Gazmer that was also a part of another Nepali feature film ‘Samjhana’ (1983) directed Sambhu Pradhan, was used in Kri.
