CJ Parajuli prepares cause list for Wednesday's court proceedings
Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice (CJ) Gopal Prasad Parajuli has prepared a cause list for Wednesday’s court proceedings and decided to hear one of 11 cases by himself.Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice (CJ) Gopal Prasad Parajuli has prepared a cause list for Wednesday’s court proceedings and decided to hear one of 11 cases by himself.
CJ Parajuli has formed 11 division benches, including justices who boycotted the hearings on Tuesday, in a move seen as his bid to send the message that majority of the benches are hearing the cases.
It is highly unlikely that five division benches of SC justices, who abstained themselves from hearing the cases yesterday, will take part in today’s court proceedings. However, of the 10 division benches and one single bench of CJ Parajul, there are high chances that six SC benches will conduct the hearings today.
Meanwhile, a SC source has informed that a contempt of court case might be registered against justice Cholendra SJB Rana, and CJ Parajuli might preside over the hearings of the case.
